Since it has a trunk, I would probably consider switching the car to propane. I've also seen good luck with the Weber kit which is probably NA. I remember the side draft SU on my MGB and how they were just as troublesome and those on a friends Volvo.

Propane would be interesting! I don't think those are SUs on it though. They look like weber side drafts to me. I bet it makes a great noise!

You are right as I thought it had the stock carbs. I've worked on the slow Volvo's of that vintage, and those used either an SU or similar side draft. Propane would make it cheaper to feed and lower the maintenance costs and storage costs. It best to install it on a car with a vented trunk or in a pickup bed in order to use the cheaper propane tanks.
